Language is a tool we use to communicate with other people. It is a social aspect of human life and a form behavior. In movie, that is impossible that the people just speak with the regional people that merely speak regional language. Sometimes, they will face reality that force them to speak in varieties of language. Using more languages can support the people to make the conversation or interaction more fluently. As a matter of fact, conversation in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap switched their language.
The formulation of the research problem in this study are: 1) What are the types of language switching and code switching used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap?. 2) what factors influence the language switching and code switching occurring in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap?. 3) What are the frequencies of language switching and code switching in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap?. The purpose of this study were: 1) To know the types of language switching and code switching used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap. 2) to know the factors of language switching and code switching used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap 3) To know the frequencies of language switching and code switching in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap.
The research method: 1) The research of this study is descriptive with quantitative approach. 2) The population of this study were the all utterances of characters in the movie “Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap”. 3) the sample were all utterances used by the characters in the movie that used code switching. 4) the instrument of this research are the researcher it self, documentation and observation, 5) data analysis technique: 1. The collected data that related to the types language switching and code-switching of the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap. 2. The collected data that related to the factors language switching and code-switching of movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap
The data analysis of quantitative used statistics that match with the purpose of the search. In analyzing the data, table of frequency and percentage are used. The data from analyze with looking, and listening the movie have been identified are analyzed on the scored. First, data grouped and classified based on the characteristic of the items, secondly, the items are scored are scored based on the frequency of using language switching and code-switching.
The research finding: 1) The type language switching that used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap are: a) intern code switching 26.6%, b) extern code switching 13.3%, 2) the type code switching that used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap are: a) Inter sentential switching 13.3%, b) metaphorical code switching 6.6%, c) situational code switching 20%, d) tag switching 20%. 3) the factors of code switching used in the movie Kejarlah Jodoh Kau Kutangkap are: a) cause of the speaker 40%, b) the interlocutors 33.3%, c) the topic discussion13.3%, and d) humorous usage 13.3%.
