Teori penyusutan dan pengembangan : Studi atas pemikiran Abdulkarim Soroush tentang agama dan al Qur'an
ABSTRACT : Abdulkarim Soruosh is a contemporary Shi'ite thinker whose ideas on religion and the Qur'an is controversial. His ideas is part of his criticismagainst Islamic regime in Iran especially the Iranian clergy. This articleis devoted to study his theory, Contraction and Expansion of Religious Knowledge, that discussed about the differences between religion and religious science. The first in divine but the second is human and this-wordly. Started from his first theory, he propose another theory about the Qur'an, i.e. the Expansion of Prophetic Experiences. Here, he comes to conclude that, to some extent, the Qur'an is in the same position as religious knowledge. Radically, Soroush claims that the Qur'an is the Words of Muhammad. This article shows that by this argument, he doesn't want to dismiss the divine origin of the Qur'an. Rather, it is an invitationto an open interpretation of the Qur'an Seeing his radical ideas which tend to be misunderstood, this article propose to understand them proportionally.
