Abstract : This article focus on philosophy of concept of materialism and its develpment from old Greek era to this era. This research was conducted by studying literature through interpretation method and logical thinking. The result of the research shows that the concept of materialism always has a change from era to era, due to the materialism followers always expanded and reformed, on materialism and synchronized with the result of a new modern science invention. Later they perfected in the principle of their philosophy. It made this principle get incredible success from 17, 18, and 19 century, However philosophical generalization which was made has caused materialism to do " The fallacy of misplaced concreteness ", so in the 20 century with holistic vision which was found modern scientific invention. This invention opened natural mysterywhich has been rejected by materialism. Materialism itself has been reducted in its role from the world of knowledge as well.
