Language is very significant thing in human life. Language is the system of human communiaction wich consist of sounds into larger units. Language cannot be separated from society where language grows and exist.Language consist of words that are arranged ,forming and has meaning. Words are very important in language. Moreover to know the words are created can help us to increase our vocabulary. In english it is called morphological process.
This study attempts to investigate the morphological process especially in barrack obama’s speech. The formulated research problem were :1)How the words of Barrack Obama’s speech in June 2009 are formed ?.2)What are the part of speech in Barrack Obama’s speech in June 2009 after it being combined?.3)What kind of morphological process that common used in Barrack Obama’s Speech in June
2009 ?.
The objectives of research were: 1) To know how the word of Barrack Obama’s speech in June 2009 are formed .2) To know the part of speech of Barrack Obama’s speech on June 2009 after being combined.3) To know the kind of morphological process of Barrack Obama’s Speech on June 2009 that common used.
The descriptive method was conducted this thesis.This study describes and explains the morphological process of barrack obama’s speech.There are steps that used in analyzing.Firstly, reading the sources of data (barrack obama’s speech on June 2009). Secondly, identifying the words of barrack obama’s speech on june 2009. Thirdly, grouping the words of barrack obama’s speech on june 2009. Finally, analyzing the words of barrack obama’s speech on june 2009.
Based on the data presented and analyzed in this study the writer found that: 1).There are five morphological process (affixation, composition,suppletion, cliticization, and internal change morpheme) of Barrack Obama’s speech in June 2009. 2). The words after combined by affixation –tion,- ly, -ment,- able the part of speech are changed and the words are added by affixations “-s”, -ing”,”-ed”, and “–‘s” (possessive) do not change the part of speech these suffixes just express different grammatical. 3). Affixation is morphological process commonly used in barrack obama’s speech in June 2009.
Related to the study result, the writer suggest the student who want learn about this atudy deeply the student must more explore the process that can create the new word, not only morphological process but also other process to enrich the understanding about the process of word. In adition, knowing the process of word will increase our vocabulary.
