ABSTRACT : Mukhtalif al hadits is a set of theories for resolving seemly a number of contradicting ahadits. This theory has a benefit to understand those contradicting ahadits (hadits mukhtalif), as well as an attempt to elaborate the content of those ahadits. The method being offered by ulama is varied, but in global, the method are as followed : al-jam'u, an-naskh, at-tarjih dan at-tawaquf.
